50 Best judging is starting soon!

EXPERIENCED DINERS WANTED

At the core of everything we do is our annual 50 Best Places to Eat program. Its most obvious function? To determine the 50 best dining destinations each year. However, this program does so much more. The findings gathered also provide real-world data that help determine whether a culinary destination, be it a 50 Best destination or not, is worthy of inclusion in our annual culinary guide or a magazine feature. As we see it, the 50 Best program is the rudder that steers this ship, while the team of volunteer judges is the engine propelling it.

With that in mind, we are once again searching for quality individuals to join our volunteer team and help us nominate and rate dining destinations throughout Halifax, the Annapolis Valley, and across the South Shore. Potential volunteers should share similar values to those that the Curated brand has long stood for. If you are uncertain, it’s best not to sign up. Volunteer judges must also have dined at 50 or more restaurants in Nova Scotia between July 2024 and July 2025. All potential volunteers must complete a brief questionnaire to help us determine suitability.

If selected, judges will have the opportunity to nominate dining destinations from outside of our selected shortlist. Here, we'll be looking for destinations worthy of inclusion in our annual culinary guide. Then, with our complete list of competitors, our judges will provide objective ratings on the eateries they have visited over the past 12 months. The process can take as little as 15 minutes, but some participants prefer to invest more time. We’ve been told it’s a fun process.

Anyway, that's it! Another call for judges and a new 50 Best list around the corner. If you feel qualified and would like to take part, please send an email to: 50best@curatedmagazine.ca
